As well as all those lovely Vehicles and Stalls, Chippenham Lions aim to provide Fun and Food for all the family. Have a look at what we’ve lined up for you …
In the Arena Area …
So far we have secured the services of the following entertainments …
We are pleased to welcome back The 4+1 Jazz Group who will be playing Traditional Jazz for us throughout the day. This group have a great Dixie Land sound and are well known in and around Chippenham and are also good friends of Lions having supported us on many occasions – in fact, they are practically family. The group consists of Bob Jones (clarinet & alto & tenor sax), Doug Ellis (trombone & vocals), Alan Stackman (guitar & banjo) and, in the rhythm section, Ron Brown (bass guitar) and Steve Harding (drums).
We are pleased to have the Britannia Majorettes and Miniettes back with us again this year. They are a group of girls aged 4 and upwards who bring faultless precision marching, deft pom-poming and crisp uniforms to our day. Their wonderful performances have won many hearts and many awards and helped raise money for charity.
We welcome back Xpression StreetDance who will be showing you all the latest moves. These youngsters joined us last year and and were an immediate hit. Xpression StreetDance run classes and their teacher is of the belief that ANYONE can learn to dance with the right teaching methods. Genuine Authentic StreetDance classes are held in Corsham, Chippenham, Calne and Devizes so, why not join them to learn from professional instructor Diane.
It’s been a couple of years since Moonrakers the local Chippenham Gymnasts group entertained us and we welcome them back again to give us a show of rolling and tumbling. The club was established in 2011 and is based at the Olympiad Leisure Centre in Chippenham (Wiltshire). Over the years they have been very fortunate to update and buy new equipment through fundraising activities.
Around the Field …
We are booking Entertainers for the field, and at this stage:
Tony the Clown will be making a welcome return to Lions events as he mingles with the crowds. He says he has missed you all.
Chuffy The Land Train comes to you from KTM Entertainments who take you from Here to There and Back Again and somewhere in-between. We welcome him back again as a regular crowd pleaser who is no stranger our show. So come on Kiddies, take Granddad for a ride.
All the Fun of The Fair when John Jennings brings along some of his fairground rides and skill stalls for your entertainment. Who knows – rides, trampolines, test your strength… All the traditional stuff.
You can also try your skill at Archery For Beginners with plenty of space when Moving Mountains bring their bows and arrows along. They tell us archery is a target sport requiring skill, precision, and a steady hand. It’s also a great confidence booster for young people, especially when they hit the target for the first time. Moving Mountains are able to offer archery sessions both indoors and outdoors, and we have a range of equipment enabling us to run sessions for all ages from 8 to adult.
