The Cherished Vehicle and Family Fun Day is a fundraising event and one of the two main charities which will benefit from this event is the Rise Trust. Their CEO, Lynn Evans tells us:
RISE stands for Reach – Include – Support – Enable
The RISE Trust works with families and children to help them to get back on their feet. We offer non-judgemental, impartial, friendly advice and we are always there!
The trust is a community charity and our services have been developed in response to the community needs. These needs are identified through our local partnership working directly in the community with local charities and churches.
Our Children’s Centre Services (for families with 5-year olds and under) are commissioned by Wiltshire Council and we cover North Wiltshire – Chippenham, Calne, Corsham, Colerne, Malmesbury, Royal Wootton Bassett, Lyneham and Cricklade/Purton. We work out of centres, community venues and in family homes and wherever is best for our families.
Our focus is on –
- Outreach support for vulnerable children and families
- Parenting Aspirations and Parenting Skills
- Narrowing the Attainment Gap working with settings and schools
- Specialised Training and Support for vulnerable families
- The ‘RISE journey’ from client to employment
In addition to our Children’s Centre Services, we run The RISE Trust Provisions, and these are financed through fund raising and grant applications. Provisions include parent support advice in primary schools, mentoring, contact centre, pre-schools and youth work.
People from all walks of life help The RISE Trust by fundraising and we are forever grateful for support. Staff, parents, children and the general public get involved in our cake sales, raffles and events to raise funds and the awareness of the work that we do as Children’s Centres. As a charity that started in Chippenham, supporting families in the town is very dear to our hearts.
